In 2016, I worked with the education team at the Addison Gallery of American Art. They needed an updated email template for their monthly newsletters. The gallery launched a new exhibition theme focused on the question, What is America?, in the fall of 2016 and needed their email communication to carry this theme in design.
Over a few weeks, I redesigned and recoded the newsletter template. The email template code began the development of the second generation email template system. The template was developed using hybrid code to support most email clients and most variants of MS Outlook 2007+. The code also integrated Gmail support. As other email templates, the template is developed responsively, to render on all devices, regardless of screen size. The template has been rigorously Litmus tested to support most email clients to Phillips Academy standards.
The email template was designed and developed to provide the Addison education team a template to send newsletters. The Addison team sends about three newsletters a month to three different audiences. As a happy accident, this newsletter email template provides the Addison team a solution for event invite and update emails.
